The Nutcracker

Traditional Christmas story with a unique approach by Vadim Fedotov. The story of the Nutcracker has been fascinating audiences of all ages for over one hundred years all over the world, since its premiere at the Maryinsky Theater, St. Petersburg, Russia, in 1892. Set in Germany, the story is about courage, integrity, dedication, and how a thrown ballet slipper can change destinies.

Coppelia

Vadim Fedotov’s unique interpretation of another classic, Coppelia is a sentimental comic ballet that premiered in 1870 at the Theatre Imperial de l’Opera in Paris, France. Young Franz falls in love with a beautiful lady reading by a window, which upsets his fiancee, Swanhilda. Determined to fight for her love, Swanhilda visits the mysterious house of the stranger lady to find out that the object of her fiancee’s love is only a doll, created and deeply treasured by the mad Doctor Coppelius. The ballet conveys the story of love and forgiveness with the precision of Fedotov’s choreography and is a great entertainment for the entire family.

Snow White

The eternal tale of kindness and jealousy, friendship, love, hate, forgiveness, and why the good always defeats the evil. Vadim Fedotov’s production of Snow White presents a unique interpretation of the tale in a form of a classical ballet. The audience gets to witness a small world of its own, where the lives of animals and dwarfs get interrupted by crafty designs of the evil Witch, whose spell on Snow White may only be broken by the beautiful Prince…

Romeo & Juliet

A dangerous idea of sneaking into a masquerade of the opposing gang turns from an innocent adventure into an incident that changes the lives of the habitants of Verona forever, as the son of Montague falls in love with the daughter of Capulet.  Their destiny is predetermined, as Romeo and Juliet will pay the highest price for their love, – a price for all the monstrous acts by their families. The story of their love never gets old, as Fedotov’s ballet conveys all the tragedy, action, purity, and the strongest passion that acknowledges no obstacles.

Dedicated to George Gershwin, whose musical compositions have been featured in opera, broadway, and films, Vadim Fedotov presents a show of beautifully choreographed dance productions that initially do not seem to be connected. Only at the end, the pieces fall into one wholesome mosaic of occurrences to ordinary people, who face the life as it is, with choices, disappointments, and much treasured moments of happiness…

Russian Ballet of Orlando is a non-profit, professional student performing company operating as a 501 (c)(3) organization.  We give an opportunity to every child to perform in professional productions throughout the year.  Kids are our future and it is our duty to provide them with the experience, knowledge, and respect toward the arts.  We do not just teach how to dance; we teach the history of ballet and music, the beginning of ballet methods and first ballet creations, French terminology and choreography.

We thank all of our Sponsors and Patrons of the Arts for the great support of Russian Ballet of Orlando and Russian Academy of Ballet; with your help every year the children receive the best possible ballet training and knowledge there is in Orlando Community.  With two convenient locations, downtown and the new facility in Waterford Lakes, we became one of the largest Dance Studios in Orlando, with a 4,000 square feet open space facility for ballet creations to be taken to the next level.  Vadim Fedotov and Irina Depler are world renown dancers, choreographers. For 10 years they have been bringing a piece of European Culture to Orlando community.

Help us introduce the arts, culture, history and ballet productions to those who want to see and learn, and to those who do not have the financial ability to experience the beauty of Ballet in Orlando.  Russian Ballet of Orlando contributes its services to the community programs in Orlando yearly with free productions of the Nutcracker at Lake Eola Amphitheater in December, working with Northland Church, supporting Harbor House at the Princes Ball, providing ballet entertainment at Swan Soiree and Festival of Orchestras, and providing performances for the retirement communities in South Florida for all of the Century Villages.

Katerina Fedotova

President, Russian Ballet of Orlando

Katerina is the daughter of Artistic Directors, Vadim Fedotov and Irina Depler, was born as the forth generation ballet dancer in Kiev, Ukraine, studied at the Kiev Ballet Academy in Kiev, Ukraine under the direction of Natalya Shitikova and Larisa Obovskaya, and the National Theater of Yugoslavia.  As a child Katerina has traveled the world with her parents since the day she could walk, watching and taking in the exciting life of ballet dancers, as they transform them selves to the most fascinating characters on stage.  The Theater became her playground and ballet became her world.  Katerina received a principal title at the age of 18, and performed in countries including Spain, Portugal, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Romania, South Korea, England, Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, and United States.   Katerina has performed and toured as a Principal Dancer in ballets including Le Corsaire, Sleeping Beauty, Ballet Fedotov’s Productions of The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Snow White, Hamlet, West Side Story, Romeo and Juliet, Gershwin Greats, Coppelia and many different etudes and variations choreographed specifically for Ms. Fedotova by her father Prof. Vadim Fedotov.

March 23, 2011 Katerina and her parents celebrated the 11 year Anniversary of Russian Academy of Ballet in Orlando.  Ms. Fedotova is a Director of Russian Academy of Ballet and accepted President position on the board of Russian Ballet of Orlando in May of 2011.  She continues family’s legacy educating and training young, aspiring dancers to succeed and pursue their professional career in ballet.  Katerina’s goal at Russian Academy and Russian Ballet of Orlando is to provide dancers with opportunities to train Russian “Vaganova” method and to build their professional resume by performing solo and principal roles while they are still in school.  As they graduate, Russian Ballet graduates will have an impressive resume filled with strong experience that will be appropriate  to present to companies world wide.
